Why study with Geoffrey Blake
Geoffrey is not an acting teacher. He is an actor who teaches.
Geoffrey Blake is a two-time SAG Award winner, Emmy-nominated actor, and a performer with already more than 150 screen and stage projects in across nearly five decades. He has worked with legendary directors including Robert Zemeckis, Barry Levinson, and Ron Howard, and has shared the screen with many of the greatest like Tom Hanks (multiple times), Jodie Foster, Ed Harris and many other superve active actors like him.
What makes studying with him an exceptional opportunity is not only his résumé, but his love to the craft of acting, and his perspective: he understands what it takes to sustain a real acting career, and he brings that wisdom directly into the room.
Geoffrey Blake's master class is built around craft, truth, presence, and the discipline it takes to become the actor you know you want to be –That you can be.
Geoffrey is coming to New York to work one on one with you, not to give you theory from the sidelines. This is a focused, in-person experience designed for actors who want to sharpen instincts, access emotional life with greater clarity, and step into a more powerful connection with their work.
Across two five-hour sessions, Geoffrey will guide participants through exercises, moment-to-moment work, and scene exploration that dig beneath the lines and into the life of the character. The class focuses on what the character wants, how to access truth, and how to make the work specific, alive, and deeply human.
Participants will work in a positive, collaborative environment where Geoffrey helps identify what is already great in each actor and unlocks even more of it.
It's not just me talking. It's you doing the work.
–Geoffrey Blake
Geoffrey believes that different techniques serve different circumstances, mediums, and scripts. This class is designed to help actors understand which tools work best for them and how to apply them with confidence.
My approach will always be positive for you. I will always build you up, not tear you down. You are not a student, you are my colleague.
–Geoffrey Blake
participation levels
The participant group is intentionally capped at 10 so the work stays intimate, focused, and personal. You will have the opportunity to actively engage, take direction, and receive meaningful support inside a room designed for serious actors.
This is where the class becomes hands-on: you do the work, get coached in real time, and leave with a deeper understanding of how you operate as an actor.
Observer access is ideal for actors, students, and creatives who want to learn by watching a master class at close range. You’ll see how Geoffrey coaches, how performers respond, and how craft comes alive in real time.
With only a few observer spots available, this remains a high-value, focused experience rather than a crowded event.
If something is still unclear, this is the place to clear it.
Last call
Geoffrey Blake believes acting is a tribe — a place for committed artists who are willing to work hard, stay open, and keep growing. This master class is a chance to step into that spirit, train with a working master, and leave with more confidence, more clarity, and more fire for the work.
